A FATHER who did a 40-metre burnout outside Waroona police station on Christmas Day had his two daughters in the car with him at the time.

Police will allege the 34-year-old Mandurah man performed the burnout outside the cop shop about lunchtime.

An officer reversing out of the station caught him in the act and chased him.

When the officer pulled him over, they were shocked to find he had his two daughters, aged 7 and 10, in the car.

WA’s dumbest dad driver also left skid marks on the road.

The car was also packed with Christmas presents as well as the family dog.

Sergeant Jeff Taylor, from Waroona police station, was at home at the time nearby when he heard the burnout.

“We had a stolen car that we had got in the morning that we stopped on the highway, we had that parked out the front of the station,” Sgt Taylor said.

“As this guy has done the burnout, he just missed the stolen car.

“He’s 34, he should know better.

“There are two police stations there, an old one and a new one sitting side by side.

“I had just left work and I heard it from my house.

“I can’t understand why people would endanger the lives of their own children. Why would you risk it?”

Sgt Taylor said the man was “most apologetic” for what he had done.

“I don’t think (he) saw the police stations, or maybe he thought no one would be working (during) Christmas,” Sgt Taylor added.

The Ford Falcon XE used for the burnout has now been seized by police.

WA’s dumbest dad driver also left skid marks on the road.

Looks like they let him off pretty easy by only charging him with creating excessive noise and impounding the car. Could've been a lot worse for him.

Under WA law will still lose his license for 6 months and cost about a grand to get his car out of impound and about a grand in fines/court fees.

What an absolute legend.

I remember when I was about 11 or 12 my older brother would drive me up the road to the culdesac in his GS ute and blow the tyres off. Then drive home to mum and step dad threatening to kick him out
So good.

Lol, you guys commenting would be singing a different tune if it was a young guy in a vt commodore...

Retarded thing to do, especially having his kids in the car. Personally I think they should confiscate the car permanently.

Hopefully he will learn his lesson but considering there were kids and a dog in the car, I think he could've copped it a lot worse.

Under WA law, the police could have charged him with more serious offenses (related to reckless driving) but it appears that some degree of leniency was shown.

The law must be consistent in it's application. That is the meaning of justice.

Must have been a slow news day. Those Keystone cops in WA can catch a dude doing a burnout but can't catch the Claremont serial killer. Says it all about their skill and competency.
