Default tow a van with the ba and get more practice

hi everyone

have a ford 2003 ba ghia and it only has a 1600kg flat tow bar currently and wish to get experience towing vans but dont have a square hd tow bar and only have the 1600kg one

was wondering if you were to hire a large trailer just to drive around what would be the closest to a van to get similar effect.

reason for asking is the none of the family have got vans that are still rated for the ford to tow and have all upgraded to bigger vans and wondered what could be done as wont be able to wait until having own van and itll be a while as want a old car soon as

a cousin borrowed a aunts 20ft crusader van which is probably the only van left that the ba could tow and even that is on border which means it would just be ok as long as you didnt fully load it and now theyve taken it back to murray bridge which is 3 hours from where the rest of family live inc the aunt who owned the crusader van

the way its seen is that wouldnt have had anything to loose by asking if it can be used but now that not even a option to think about.

at moment the ba has to do and cant afford to change cars to something with more towing capacity to be more flexible and like the ba as well and currently is going ok even though its done 263,000km.

as the ba/bf is known to be a great make and model will it be a problem keeping the ghia past 300,000km or 20 years old if its been good all along and had a heap of work done if you havent quite got enough saved to buy next car outright with no finance when it reaches either, or should you try change it by then to get the next one with the features you want.

wouldnt have much more than 5 grand (especially currently) and was lucky to get this car for under 5 grand as the good ghias and fairlane in the ba/bf still got 5 plus grand even with similar km.

would it be worth going into athol park wreckers in adelaide on grand junction road or upullit or any other wreckers and seeing how much a hd tow bar is and saving up for labour to change from flat tongue to square tongue tow bar just to buy as long as you need to be able the next car with the high end features you want.

the ba is above average for its age and km travelled so chances are will probably keep it past 300,000 or 20 years as they are known to go for heaps longer if maintained as best as possible.

what other van options are there to get the practice if all family have upgraded to bigger vans and your cars not able to tow them, you wouldnt have anything to loose by asking.

thanks
