What do most Fordforums members use as their favourite brand as in Wax's or Polish to keep your Ford gleaming and looking as good as ever.
There are heaps of different brands out there available with probably Meguiar's being one of the best and that's the one i've been using the most, but i have come across an Australian brand called Bowden's Own and believe me it's the best ever that i have used and the best thing about it is it's fully Australian owned not cheap but you pay for what you get as the old saying goes. If you buy one of their packages it comes with Auto body Gel,Auto body Cleanser and the Auto body Perfection Wax plus it comes with the Microfibre cloth for Buffing ,Window ,and Wheel and Chamois ,Microfibre Wash Mitt, and also applicators.I certainly fully recommend their product. What's your favourite ones out there ? Cheers John

agreed, the article is very good however, for myself, I use the turtle wax colour polish...helps hide all the little things that appear on black cars. On top of that I use Gold Class wax. All up it works pretty well.

On the XD I used Nu Finish polish, which we also use on our buses.
Loved seeing my Dad lean on the car once, and slide off after I'd polished it. It's also really good on faded paint. My Dad's ute looked awful until we polished it, but it came up pretty well. At the moment I'm trying some ArmourAll products. Basically cause we sell the range at work, and I'm too lazy to walk to the auto shop 4 stores away from us.

I use meguire's quik detailer straight after each wash. Doesn't take long to do the whole car - just dont leave it on for too long otherwise you will need arms like the hulk to rub it out. I do one panel at a time and when im finished waxign it on it is ready to wax off the part of the panel where i started.
Cheers Chippa

I use Maguiar's Soft Wash Gel, their Deep Crystal Polish and their Deep Crystal Carnauba wax. I'm very happy with Maguar's but I wouldn't mind trying out Bowdens Own (just to see if it's any better).

Meguiars for all of the windows, wash, polish and wax stuff. I also use Auto Glym "Tar and Bug" and a Mothers claybar. It will take a full day to wash, bar, wash, polish & wax, but the results are absolutely schmick. The amount of crap the bar removes and the glass like finish leaves the car shining and means you only need to do the whole job every quarter....Oh, I also remove the alloys every service to rotate front to rear and to clean/remove all the gunk inside and clean with Meguiars wheel cleaner.

For me there are too many polishes and other paint prep products to list.
Most you've probably never heard of, a few you would have Hardly ever polish my car. Occasionally I need to do some spot repair, removing scratches etc that show up now and then. Only the front bumper and hood of my car get waxed and that's on top of seven coats of sealants. When I do, it's P21S concourse paste wax As for sealants & waxes I have the following Sealants - klasse AIO & SG (acrylic), Menzerna Full Metal Jacket (super polymer), Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant (super polymer), Dura Glaze (polymer), Poorboys World EX-P (amino resins), Omikron Bodyguard (ceramic) & Bodyseal (polymer), Magnum Top Gear lustre power, Four Star UPP, Winners Circle Supa Seal & more Waxes - P21S, Collinite Marque D Elegance & Intimidator, Malco Flash, Pacer Rocket, Omikron Premium Liquid Wax (synthetic), Autosmart carnauba gold

I use what Sylox Uses. High Tech Wax.
I also use 3M Finish It Glaze and Compound for removing any swirls or scratches. Basically most these Turtle wax products etc only cover scratches and imperfections up, 3M completely removes them and is used by most FORD dealers on new vehicles in predelivery.

I generally use meguires products, followed by mothers (if I can't find what I want in meguires range when needed)....
But I end up with a lot of cheaper cleaning products as gifts over the year, so I use those on the wife's car or any mates that want to borrow some.

I would use Bowden's Own, only cause I know the guys. We build their sheds for all the cars they have in their collection. To see... www.bowdensown.com.au
The only reason I don't wax and polish or even clear my car is because we live on a part bitumen/part dirt road and I find that after two days, it's covered in dust and sh*t. I don't bother.

Every three months I use the Maguires 3 step system, and in the months between I use Maguires Gold Class Carnauba.
I wouldn't mind trying out the Bowden's own too, have heard good things about it, and getting my hands on a clay bar to go over the car with.
