Thumbs up Seen at AFD.

I was wandering around and saw a BA XR8 that stood out from the rest. It was a pale blue but not Velocity or Blueprint. It was a flat colour and looked a shade towards turquoise. Difficult to describe but it looked freaking great!!!

Later on I dragged a mate with me for another look and spoke to the guy who had it there. He said it was an evaluation car to test reaction to the colour. The colour is called "Bionic". He borrowed it from his uncle who is a honcho of some sort with Ford.

The guy then said he could have sold the car five times over and that everyone went ape over the colour.

I didn't take a photo as it wouldn't have shown up the subtle difference between it and the other blues.

It was just next to the AFF display so I'm sure some of you guys noticed it.

Ford does Blue so well, doesn’t it!!!

I saw it, was a pastel blue colour. Have to admit, a few of us discussed the colour and most of us didnt like it - including me.
Strangely, we could see an old XW/XY (not sure) in the same colour as well...and it suited the older shape much better.

It is Velocity. Shockwave is the darker blue.

Velocity.

It didn't inspire me at first but it's grown on me to the extent that If I were buying now that'd be my colour.

Bionic doesn't look too bad, I think it looks better on utes, seen an XR6 ute in that color but its not going to be available for a few months yet. Toxic looks awesome though, just like Citric but a bit more lime.

Interesting, but honestly, im getting tired of the blues now. There is 2 tenths of bugger all difference between Velocity and Blueprint, i think its about time Ford expanded their colour palette beyond changing a few subtle hues of a single colour. How many different blues do we really need?

Blaze however looks very good, nice and classy. Im unsure if i would buy it on an XR, but it would be the go on a Fairmont/Lane/Territory.

You might have to get used to blue as there are more on the way. I think they are overdoing it. Soon enough there will be about 5 blues to choose from.

I'm a Blue man, it's my favourite colour, I did however miss this vehicle in discussion, I really like the new Blue on the XR's, the darker one though.

Default Bionic Blue

saw a territory in the bionic blue and it looked awful!!! : IT was too solid and didnt suit the big shape of the terri. i absolutely love yellow as a color but the rapid is not metallicy enough, its too flat as well. There was a cool metallic yellow on the SVO ute when the BAs first came out at ford/holden show. have seen toxic xr cruising round geelong had to do the double take, looks good
