As if the RB engine wasn't bad enough they had to go and put a cannon muffler on it too. :

Car can be returned to original one day if a purist buys it.

I think it is pretty cool, the RB26 is a worthy transplant.

The RB26 is an awsome engine, Ive been for a ride in an old 260 Dato with a 400rwhp RB in it and I damn nearly crapped myself!! These donks were way ahead of their time....however, Id still rather the sweet sound of an old pushrod V8 doing the job...

Simmo, why don't you just join a Skyline board?
RB26's have their place, but its not in a 67/68 fastback.

Atleast a V8 Lexus.. A Cobra V8 with turbo added would have been way better and shown engineering skills...

I think its ok.

Some of you guys crack me up. I'm a HUGE '67 fan, and though I wouldn't put an RB26 in one myself, I think its fine that someone else has done it.

The important thing is that they haven't messed with the styling, and they've saved another body from the scrap heap.

Hell, Eleanor from Gone in Sixty Seconds had more rice (full fibreglass kit) than this.

As for the N1 cannon exhaust - at least its got the engine to back up the noise, unlike the miriad of 1.5L Lancers that have an N1 strapped to the back.

RB26s are awesome engines, just not in old school American classics.

I guess it's different, but the sound would be very odd coming from a old Stang though.

one more reason not to watch the movie IMO.
the only ford i saw in too fast too furious (turned it off half way through cos it was a terrible excuse for entertainment & far too fake) was a very nice red mustang. It was unceremoniously put under a truck very early in the movie, now this. havent they done enough with rb engines in that movie series?

yep, rb26 is a monster & has its place, but ive always been anti transplant from a different manufacturer. put it in a nissan (even a VL commodore) & i'll be interested.

I agree.

Brilliant engines and potential, but in an old-school American classic, no thanks.

Give me a big block any day!!!

Half the reason for admiring an old school stang is looks, the other half is the noise from the V8!

The sound of a 6 coming from a old school Stang, would be f***ing weird.

I'm sure the thing would go like a rocket though.

not denying the RB is a good engine, just stating that in a classic mustang its wrong. a classic stang doesn't have to be fast IMO. it has nothing to prove, it has its presence and part of that is a big ford V8 underneath (with all its inefficiencies ). To me putting that 6 under there just tanrishs the characteristics of such a car. well that's my opinion of it anyway.

Pfft. Great looking car. Great performing Engine.

Old school classics are meant to have high tech turbo stuff in them. None of this pushrod crap :nutsycuck

Anyways as long as its fast who cares! :eclipsee_

If I got a car like that and my only engine option was an R34 RB26 I wouldnt turn it down for the world.
