OK seriously now... I pick a car by what it looks like first...

If I was to buy a car (new or used) I go by the type first, colour second and what its got third...

Quality and feel. The most important aspect for me is the way it feels inside, and the way it is to drive. Combined with this is build quality, and if it gives off that feel.

Its a major contributing factor to the reason I don't like many Japanese and Korean cars. They all feel cheap and poor inside. That's not to say they're all like that, some examples that are great inside would be the new Subaru Liberty, the Mazda 2, 3 and 6 etc.

it really depends on what style of car i was buying, if i wanted an old classic id go for style/looks if i was buying a newer car id go more on km's and features

When I was looking for a new car it was going to be a Commodore or a Falcon. As I wanted something that Australian (I know the companies are American but at least they're built here), RWD, a large car, looked good and was cheap to repair if something went wrong. The BA was what I wanted and has been a great car that's more "Australian" than the Holden counterpart.

first 2 things... preformance and comfort...
than reliability... you dont want o buy a pefrormance car and have itr dying all the time... like i wouldnt buy a rexy or a tx3 or equivalent due to the weaknesses in their drivelines...
then quality of build...
the mazda 3 is all round a good car... not a ball tearer, but beats majority of cars... especially falcons and commodores... love it...

first is overall condition, if its just a ratty pile of junk i will walk away but if it needs a bit of work here and there all is good i can live with that. Potential for sure, and the general look and feel of the car and as a new rule if its already modified/worked in any way im not touching it.

I use to buy based on looks now i buy on practicality. Loved my previous rides, specially the BA XR6, but the Territory does everything it did and more. Safety, ride, comfort and visability are important to me.

The ultimate test for ever car I buy however is- It must be able to carry 4 heavy arsed adults in airconditioned comfort up a steep hill on a 40 degree day whilst doing belting along at 110 kmh easily.

I like to buy a car on feel.
How it drives looks and how it makes me feel, Dealers can spin so much crap to you but in the end it's you that has to pay for it and drive it.
Last Tuesday i was at a holden dealers looking over a New Barina, Better put together then most will say but that doesn't take away it's cheapness still, They really are more clean but if you listen to the dealer it's the best small car not in OZ but the world:P, Clearly not true.
