well done!!
that brings back some memories from my childhood. dad used to have a red XB GS pano with GT options like the bonnet, dash, headlights and whatever else. also had a 302 but it was auto. he had the bonnet scoops painted black which made it look a lot better.
some of my first real memories are in that car.

take my advice though and lose the checker plate side skirting and the bullbar....really doesnt suit the car, thats just my opinion though.
have fun with the beast and enjoy an ever so rarer peice of history.

cheers every one yeah i absolutely love it. im going to get it stripped of paint when i can afford it and have some rust cleaned up, then respray it with some cheap paint. the paint on it has been sprayed in someones shed and isnt very good but will do for now. it grinds going into second sometimes, has squeeks in the suspension, a few rust spots but other wise is a do-er-uperer. it runs well (drove it 150 kms back from where i brought it and it used a quarter of a tank, and the temp didnt go up at all.)

I used to have a XC 302 auto GS panel van...... memories!!! But I was 19 then. I get a slap across the back of the head from the trouble and strife anytime I mention that car.

Many bouts of tennis elbow if I remember correctly. If I had one again I would have power steering fitted. But they are a nice car on the open road. I drove mine around Australia. Had the ocean out the drivers side window for 3 months. But petrol was around 50c a litre back then. Only baby boomers and the packer family can afford that kind of trip now.

Just toss that hideous bar off the front, it wrecks the looks.

DONT PUT FORD DOONAS IN THERE.

if say, you are at a party and you and some chick are heading back to your pano for some quiet time... she's gonna see the ford blankets and bail :

for the walls you need like red or pink velour :

Leapord skin, crushed velvet, straight back to the 70's , this was how we did them up back then. never a dull moment and make sure curtains are non see through for privacy.

enjoy your car, i like it, and brings back good memories. Done properly that could be one tough looking car when your done.

That is one sweet ride, great price, and you just don't see cool looking vans around anymore. I wish I had that van when I was 16, I'm sure you will have plenty of good times.

hahah mate that is awesome.

Also I concur about the ford sleepware range, steer clear unless they buy it for you...lol

A bit of TLC and its going to be awesome. You have done something I wish I did, buy a car that if anything will appreciate!

Try using a metal polish such as Autosol.

Nice ride, good luck & enjoy it.

Autosol is good for dull rims but it will struggle with rust, grab one of your mums steelo pads and rub the rusty bits with some soapy warm water, then try some wheel cleaner.
