Default Ford still hurt by AU debacle

As a passionate (sometimes toooooo passionate) Ford fan, 1998 always comes back to haunt me, and more importantly Ford of Australia. Who the hell approved the AU design? Forget the idiot that put pen to paper, I'm talking about the head honcho that gave it the nod. Now, looks are subjective, and in the eye of the beholder, but ugly is just ugly. I tried to be positive at the time and think that it was futuristic and ahead of its time. Yes some look good dumped and with big wheels. But any car will look half decent by doing those things to it. The AU fiasco single-handedly buried Ford into third position in the local market. To the point where the BA - BF were vastly superior to the VY and VZ but couldn't catch up because of IMAGE (due to the AU). Also Ford, START MARKETING PROPERLY!!! To think that people out there have this vision that Holden have a more refined product (pre VE I'm talking about) is due to two things. 1. Poor marketing and 2. The most important: that instant in 1998 when they took the sheets off the BEAUTIFUL (sarcasm intended) Falcon Forte.

Still hurt, still feel the pain, still a Ford fan

I must be missing your point. I was never offended by the AUs looks. How is ford Australia STILL hurting from the AU?

I really can't see this heading anywhere constructive - but will give the thread a chance to prove me wrong.
Lets keep the discussion positive & provide REAL content to substantiate claims etc, rather then based upon subjective looks etc.
