Hello to all, Just wondering what you do in this not so good situation.
Myself(351fordgrunt) and some fellow co workers(4cylinder turbo boy's) have finished work it's late no traffic on road so we thought! The turbo in front of me gives it a bootful I check to see what his got and sit beside him still yet to open 4 barrel luckily, when some lovely red and blue lights start flashing behind us! Fellow co worker proceeds to pull over with red and blue lights behind him, I kept going. So would you stop or keep going in this situation? |

I hope this is only theoretical, I'd stop as they'll catch up with you about it sooner or later anyway. Number plates are easy to read and easy to remember when you're a Police Officer.

Keep going (not as in running but just keep driving normally) - unless they actually come up behind you and request for you to pull over...

I would keep driving normally, not actually do a runner, if the cops wanted you they would pull you over or find you later, as long as you catch up with the guy as soon as possible to find out what happened it will all be good. I would not be upset if my mate drive off, at all.

Yeah, I've been in similar situations. If they want you they WILL pull you up.
My mate & I were both speeding. The cops wanted both of us so he got pulled over, The driver of the police vehicle dropped an officer with him and then proceeded to pursue me, pulling me up 500m further down the road. In the end we both ended up with tickets for 15 and under, & luckily let off on the dragging part

Why would you stop? They pulled him over, not you.
If he was a real turbo man he would have just floored it and hit a pole somewhere down the road "moments" after the Police terminated the chase. |

Keep going from what you have said you didn't do anything wrong, and as has been said if they wanted you they would have pulled you up.

If I was doing something wrong like "sustained loss of traction" I'd Stop.
If you don't, all you'll get is a knock on the door later at night or in the morning. License plates are a handy invention for the men of the law.

^^ So if you knew you did something naughty but the cops didn't signal you to pull over, you would anyway in the hope that they would book you? If they don't signal you to pull over, they're not interested.
Funny story along these lines happened to me once in Queanbeyan NSW. I was on the way to a Christmas party, driving out of a 60 zone into a 100 zone, started accellerating and got booked at 75k's just 100m short if the 100 sign. Whilst I was getting my ticket, this woman who had just driven past did a U-turn, came back, did another U-turn and pulled up to ask if she was speeding and should she get a ticket...... the copper and I looked at each other in disbelief. He asked her "were you speeding"? She replied "no". "Then why did you feel the need to come and ask?". He told her she could have my ticket if she wants and to get on her way. |

I read it that he didn't do anything wrong, just more in a quandry as to whether he should stop and support his mate.
Personally in this case, wait around the corner and support him then and just say I didn't want to stop in case they went over my car too, but hey mate sorry you got caught "YOU DI##HEAD". Always check your mirrors.

I guess it was my fault for not fully Reading his post, my bad. I wouldn't stop in his (the topic starters) situation just stating if I did see flashing lights behind me, for me, I would stop without second a thought. You can get pulled over for doing nothing as-well. I've been stopped a couple of times now, possibly 3? for nothing except a routine check up. Just so they can have a look at the cars lol. Doesn't bother me one bit, the attention and enthusiasm of them is nice to see and I enjoy talking cars with the "other side". :

VE SS? even the F6?.... nnnnope. 2) My number plates are fake, so go ahead... look through the list. ................oh crap... i've got a club sticker on the back of my car Neeeever mind, i'll stop. |
